This image was captured on film with a 6 x 9 wide angle pinhole camera. A pinhole camera has no lens, no viewfinder, and no electronics. Limestone rocks in Biscayne National Park in Florida. Biscayne National Park is for the most part under water and therefore the largest underwater park in the US. In capturing this Everglades scene, I sought to embody the raw, untamed spirit of nature through the interplay of light and shadow. The monochrome tones reflect the timeless essence of the wilderness, evoking a sense of peace and introspection. This photograph invites viewers to pause and immerse themselves in the silent narrative of the woods. It's a reminder of the serene solitude that nature offers, a tranquil contrast to our bustling lives. This image was captured with an 8 x 10" large format pinhole camera. A pinhole camera has no viewfinder, no lens, and no electronics.

In this piece, I sought to capture the haunting beauty and the stark finality of nature altered by human intervention. Depicted in black and white, the stark contrast and textured details invite viewers to ponder the balance between nature's resilience and its fragility. This photograph, spotlighting a lone, severed tree stump amidst a ghostly landscape, serves as a poignant reminder of both loss and endurance. This image was captured with an 8 x 10" large format pinhole camera. A pinhole camera has no viewfinder, no lens, and no electronics.

A tranquil marshland in the Florida Everglades stretches out under a sky dotted with fluffy clouds, with gentle waters reflecting the serene landscape. In creating this artwork, I sought to capture the stark, haunting beauty of nature in its raw form. Using analog photography techniques, I rendered this landscape in the Florida Everglades in black and white to emphasize the contrast and drama of the untamed wilderness. The blurred edges and grainy texture reflect the impermanence and elusive quality of nature's moments. This piece invites contemplation on solitude and the sublime, adding a deep, thought-provoking ambiance to any space it graces. This image was captured with an 8 x 10" large format pinhole camera. A pinhole camera has no viewfinder, no lens, and no electronics.

Captured with a large format film pinhole camera (4 x 5" film size) A oinhole camera ia an empty box with no lens, no electronics, and no viewfinder. Just a box with a tiny hole and a piece of film. Intimate view of a cluster of pond Cypress trees in the Florida Everglades National Park. A cluster like this is called a Cypress Head and is caused by an indentation in the ground that fills up with water. This water causes the Cypress trees to grow larger than the surrounding trees. Hence the name. Sometimes this indentations are dug out by alligators.
On the boardwalk to the Mahogany Hammock in the Everglades Everglades National Park. This was straight into the sun. Little risky, but I kinda knew/hoping what I was doing. I think it came out okay and more or less what I expected.
In capturing this serene Florida Everglades landscape, I sought to evoke tranquility and the timeless beauty of nature. Through the lens of black and white photography, each element is distilled to its essence—reflective waters, towering pines, and dramatic skies. This artwork is an invitation to pause and reflect, bringing a meditative peace to any space it inhabits. This image was captured on old school analog film with a large format 8 x 10" (film size) pinhole camera. A pinhole Camera has no lens and no electronics or view finder. Just a box with tiny hole. Film photography gives a tone and “feel” to the image that only film photography can accomplish. The film was developed by the photographer.
